BCTCS Bluegrass College Academy (BCA)

This webinar will highlight the transformative opportunities that the Bluegrass College Academy (BCA)  offers to high school students, while focusing specifically on how the Youth Leadership and Career Exploration Program empowers young people to become leaders within their communities. Alycia Tidrick, Director of the Lawrenceburg campus of Bluegrass Community & Technical College will present this webinar.

This program includes dynamic experiences such as employer visits, financial planning training, leadership development (focusing on communication, decision-making, and problem-solving), mentorship, team-building exercises, and workshops addressing social issues. These activities are designed to develop critical thinking, self-awareness, and personal growth, providing students with essential tools for success. A key feature of the program is the opportunity for students to meet with local employers, showing them the numerous career opportunities right there in their communities. This helps students realize that they don't need to move to larger cities to build successful careers—one of the main goals of the program is to keep talented young people in the local workforce.

This program is a partnership with local economic development professionals, strengthening ties between our young leaders and the future of our communities. Attendees will have the chance to learn how these leadership initiatives were developed and how you can bring similar efforts into your own communities.
