Description:
The WCCIDA Board of Directors is seeking an Executive
Director to serve in Winchester/Clark County providing overall management of
the WCCIDA. This position reports to the Board of Directors with the intent of stimulating
economic growth, development, and tourism in Winchester and Clark County for
the benefit of the community. The executive director supervises assigned staff,
is responsible for the management of the budget, serves as a liaison between
businesses and industries, is active in the community, and develops strategic
plans in partnership with city and county governments. This position is within
the provisions of KRS 154.50-336.
Salary Range: Minimum $70,000. Competitive salary based on
work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Directs overall economic development activities.
- Supervises assigned staff.
- Develops budgets, coordinates annual audits, and manages
day-to-day accounting for accurate expenditures maintaining fiscal
responsibility.
- Represents the WCCIDA in the local community.
- Advocates for economic development projects at the state level.
- Attends professional conferences, membership groups, and
trainings.
- Works with senior elected officials, civic leaders, utility
companies, landowners, and state officials to aggressively promote and
coordinate economic expansions and growth.
- Attends WCCIDA board, city commission, fiscal court, and other
related meetings.
- Facilitates expansion of current and existing businesses, industries,
commercial, and retail in the retention of existing jobs and the creation
of new jobs.
- Promotes economic development in Winchester-Clark County via all
communication types including print, television, radio, online, and social
media.
- Has knowledge of all current federal, state, and local funding/grant
programs and financing alternatives to attract and assist business and
industry.
- Keep data and knowledge on all current demographics, and
space/land inventory.
- Lead project development from ideal stage to launch.
- Works well with public and private stakeholder groups.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (related field) and five years related experience, or equivalent.
- Certified Economic
Developer (CEcD) and/or other industry recognized
accreditation/certification.
