Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Attention to detail and follow-through are essential traits
of this role. This role's top priority is working on the day-to-day details of
projects. While there is an opportunity to engage with outside stakeholders
because of the organizational mission, this role is primarily internally
facing. The ideal candidate can multitask while excellently executing
detail-oriented work and is comfortable working under deadlines.
- Manage project-related documents and data by ensuring
all necessary materials are current and adequately organized.
- Maintain regular communication with other agency
departments, consistently demonstrate a sense of urgency, and adapt to
shifting priorities.
- Assist in gathering, compiling, and presenting data
during all phases of community development projects, including any
follow-up required.
- Organize the weekly community development team meeting
and monthly project review meeting.
- Support communities by being responsive to on-demand
requests supporting active opportunities.
- Maintain a current inventory of available commercial
buildings and sites countywide.
- Search for and identify properties countywide.
- Prepare analyses and estimates for public resources
and funds.
- Perform market feasibility analyses.
- Develop and maintain appropriate databases to support
community development activities.
- Complete special projects.
- Create and deliver presentations to various
stakeholders.
- Respond to inquiries from county, city, and
development partners.
- Conduct research and provide analysis, reporting, and
presentation assistance on various projects. Assemble necessary
statistics, maps, and reports.
- Coordinate educational local community development
workshops for county and city officials based on particular topics and
current trends in local communities.
- Research and create communication content for digital
sources (website and Constant Contact), infographics, and social media.
- Serve as an internal resource for the organization’s brand and style guide, ensuring high-quality, error-free deliverables.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills,
demonstrating tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and a positive demeanor.
- Mature judgment and decision-making skills that allow
for defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing
valid conclusions.
- Problem-solving skills, including identifying the root
cause, envisioning future needs, and correcting/planning accordingly.
- Technology skills and comfortability utilizing various
technologies, including Microsoft applications, graphic design
applications, GIS applications, and other web-based systems.
- Time management skills, including multitasking,
setting priorities, and meeting deadlines for various tasks.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of preliminary
plans and documents.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative
team environment.
Minimum Education &
Professional History:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred one or more years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education or experience
may be considered.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and provide transportation to and from external meetings.
Work Environment & Physical
Demands:
This position is based on-site at Planning and Development
Services, 1840 Simon Kenton Way, Covington, Kentucky, during regular business
hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Occasional work or
participation at events or meetings during evenings or on weekends will be
required. Typical office environment for daily operations and typical physical
demands required in an office environment.
Salary:
$45,000-$65,000, with exceptional benefits.
