The President/CEO will be responsible for an annual budget of approximately $800,00+ and a staff of 5 people. Working in conjunction with the board of directors and other key stakeholders he or she will provide advice on the establishment of strategic plans aimed at achieving organizational objectives and will lead in the execution of these plans.
Areas of concentration within the existing strategic plan include building a diverse, innovation, and sustainable economy by focusing on talent, innovation, and place/ To accomplish these points we need to be a resource for our existing companies in whatever areas they need,recruit aerospace jobs to our airport sites, recruit high-tech agricultural related jobs to our port/river sites, work with Owensboro Health to support healthcare job growth, create innovative talent/workforce pipelines to support our businesses, leverage the venture capital in Owensboro into entrepreneurial success, spur more private investment into our riverfront ares & economic development organization, work with our higher education and primary education providers to leverage all of their resources, recruit college educated millennials back to Owensboro after college by promoting not only the jobs available but also the nightlife, events, restaurants, homes, apartments, plus much more at our new hire's direction.
